CANNES - Blizzard's business development vice president Paul Sams showed up in Cannes to accept the Milia d'Or award for hottest multiplayer game. A day late, that is. Blizzard's real-time strategy game Starcraft had won the award for hottest multiplayer on Milia Games' opening night. Sams was in Cannes on late notice for meetings with Blizzard's new owners, Havas. He said that for all the work that goes into developing a game like Starcraft, "these are the things that make it all worth it.... This award will be a real motivating force for the development teams" at Blizzard.
