DeNA, in partnership with Disney Interactive and Lucasfilm, have announced Star Wars: Galactic Defense, a tower defense game for iOS and Android.
Star Wars: Galactic Defense is free-to-play, and allows you to to play as either the light side or dark side. It will include units, legendary heroes, and planets from both the original trilogy and the prequels, where you'll have to stop waves of enemies from getting by your defenses. As you progress through the game, you'll be able to upgrade your towers, tune stats, and forge relics.
The announcement comes after the release of Star War Commander in August, another free-to-play mobile game in the vein of Clash of Clans. The Star Wars brand no doubt helped it cut through the glut of games on the app stores, as it reached a 5 million downloads milestone by early September.
Star Wars: Galactic Defense is set to release later this year. You can pre-register on the game's website to be notified when it's released, as well as unlock exclusive in-game content.
