Star Wars Rogue One TV Show: Alan Tudyk Confirms K-2SO Won't Be In Andor Season 1
Star Wars Rogue One TV Show: Alan Tudyk Confirms K-2SO Won't Be In Andor Season 1-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 8:41 AM

Among the numerous Star Wars TV shows in the works for Disney+ is a Rogue One prequel show about Cassian Andor. One of the main characters from the movie, the Alan Tudyk-voiced robot K-2SO, won't be involved in the show, however, at least not for its first season.

The actor confirmed this recently in an interview with Collider. "They're shooting it right now; I'm not in it. But, if it stays on the air, stories keep getting told, I'll end up in there," he said. "I'm going to be in the show. It's just that the story that Tony [Gilroy] is telling doesn't involve K-2SO until later on... I can't be too specific, but I can definitely say that I'm not going to be in the first season."

Tudyk has been involved with the various promotional activities for Star Wars in general, despite his lack of involvement in the Rogue One TV show, which is called Andor. He even jokingly suggested to the higher-ups a different name for the show, one that Disney elected to pass on.

"I had suggested at D23 when we announced in the show, that it be called K2 Fast K2 Furious: The Cassian Andor Series and, um, that's not happening, it's called Andor!" he said.

On a more serious note, Tudyk said that if K-2SO is added to the Rogue One TV show, he hopes it happens soon because getting into the motion-capture suit--which involves strapping into stilts because K-2S0 is 7 feet tall--is not so easy as Tudyk gets older.

Andor is one of 10 Star Wars TV shows that Disney has in the works for its streaming service, Disney+.

Andor brings back Diego Luna to star, alongside Stellan Skarsgard. The show has no release date yet. As for what you can watch right now, the Star Wars TV show The Mandalorian premiered its second season in October 2020 on Disney+.
