A new patch is now live on PlayStation 5 for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, introducing a variety of tweaks and fixes that should improve the experience on Sony's current generation console.
Patch 4, which was announced yesterday for consoles by Electronic Arts and Respawn, is 1.119 GB big on PlayStation 5, and it introduces a variety of fixes, such as a fix for an HDR value mismatch that would cause incorrect display, some save state errors, minor text issues, various crash fixes and more. The patch is supposed to go live today on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as well, and we will update this update once it does.
Unfortunately, the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor patch 4 will not bring any performance improvement on the console, so it will be some time until one of the game's biggest issues will be fixed. The new patch is also not going live today on PC, although it has been confirmed it will go live sometime this week. When it comes to performance, patch 4 should bring some welcome improvements on PC, as it will address traversal stuttering, improve occlusion behavior for ray tracing, and more. Some of these performance improvements will come to consoles at a later time.
Even with its performance issues, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an excellent game and a more than worthy sequel than its predecessor, despite not revolutionizing the original's formula in any significant way. You can learn more about the game by checking out Kai's review.
While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a surprise journey when it was first released, the time spent apart hasn’t made Cal Kestis’ adventures any less enjoyable. A similar framework in unfamiliar territories helps to establish Jedi: Survivor as a quality sequel to the original release. Jedi: Survivor still plays it safe in comparison to the prior game. It may be difficult to give Jedi: Survivor full marks for its individuality, but compared to the predecessor focused on Cal’s time as a Jedi Padawan, each title can stand up on its own merits, and Jedi: Survivor polishes up much of the experience as it propels the narrative ever forward on Cal Kestis’ journey to Tanalorr.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. We will keep you updated on future patches as soon as possible, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
