Star Wars Jedi: Survivor New Mod Removes The Game’s Horrible Blurriness, Disables Hidden Resolution Scaling-September 2024
Sep 21, 2024 10:38 AM

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a great-looking game, but the horrible blurriness damages the visuals considerably on all platforms. While there's nothing to be done on consoles, PC players have now the chance to experience some very crispy visuals thanks to a new mod that fixes the blurriness while also disabling hidden resolution scaling.

The new mod, which can be downloaded right now from Nexus Mods, fixes the blurriness which has been discovered to be caused by TAA without disabling it while also disabling broken hidden resolution scaling. According to the modder, hidden resolution scaling in the game is tied to the graphics preset, and only the Epic preset doesn't feature any scaling. Also, there's a bug that causes 50% resolution scaling if FSR 2.0 is disabled, forcing every user to play it on to prevent the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's visuals from looking even worse.

While modders are providing tons of fixes to the game, Respawn is also hard at work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to fix the game's many technical issues. The latest patch for the game launched last week on PC and consoles, but did little to address some of its most critical issues, such as traversal stuttering, which is still prevalent in areas such as planet Koboh.

It is a shame that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launched in such a state, as the second entry in the series is a definite improvement over its predecessor in every possible way, with better and more rewarding exploration, expanded combat, and a very engaging story. You can learn more about the game by checking out Kai's review of the PlayStation 5 version.

While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a surprise journey when it was first released, the time spent apart hasn’t made Cal Kestis’ adventures any less enjoyable. A similar framework in unfamiliar territories helps to establish Jedi: Survivor as a quality sequel to the original release. Jedi: Survivor still plays it safe in comparison to the prior game. It may be difficult to give Jedi: Survivor full marks for its individuality, but compared to the predecessor focused on Cal’s time as a Jedi Padawan, each title can stand up on its own merits, and Jedi: Survivor polishes up much of the experience as it propels the narrative ever forward on Cal Kestis’ journey to Tanalorr.
