Star Wars Jedi: Survivor expanded the gameplay formula of its predecessor by adding plenty of new mechanics, such as Perks with which to customize Cal's abilities, making him better at certain things, and tons of skills, which can be learned by spending Skill Points obtained by leveling up.
As the game features multiple skill trees featuring so many skills that sound very useful on paper, it may be difficult to pinpoint the ones to unlock first to have an easier time fighting the Galactic Empire and making the game more fun.
Still, there are some skills that are universally good and great to have in all situations. If you're playing at Jedi Master and Grand Jedi Master difficulties, the Improved Stim Forumula and Perfected Stim Forumla skills are a must-have, as they increase the amount of life restored by each Healing Stim. The Teamwork skill is another great healing skill to learn as soon as possible, as it speeds up healing considerably, which is great in a lot of combat situations when enemies don't let up. Any skill that increases Life and Force is also great to unlock as quickly as possible.
When it comes to offensive skills, many are the effective options to unlock quickly, which are all more or less effective, depending on your playstyle. If you like to use Lightsaber Stances that are not that good at dealing with multiple enemies at the same time, you will want to unlock the Wrenching Pull Force skill, an extremely useful skill that lets Cal wrench a group of enemies together. If you couple this skill with the Double-Bladed Lightsaber stance, you will be able to obliterate multiple enemies with just a few attacks quite easily.
Once you have unlocked these skills in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you will want to look at the options available for each Lightsaber Stance. Instead of unlocking skills evenly for all stances, my advice is to focus on the stances you like best and use more often, as some of the advanced skills of these stances are great to have and make the stances quite powerful. For the Blaster Stance, for example, you will want to learn the Point Blank skill, as it allows you to blast an enemy away with your Blaster before their attack connects. Blaster Cooldown and Improved Clip are solid skills to learn to make the stance more effective.
For the Crossguard Stance, to make another example, two great skills to learn are Greater Cleaving Swing and Reaching Cleve, which increases the range and the power of the devastating Cleaving Swing, a great move to use when you have depleted the enemy's block gauge.
All other Lightsaber Stances in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor also have great skills to learn as quickly as you can. If you like using the Single Stance, you should learn Dash Strike and Charged Throw as soon as possible since they allow for great mobility and enhanced long-range fight capabilities, making this stance an even better all-rounder. For the Dual Wield Stance, alongside Backstep Slash, which is great for a hit-and-run playstyle, you should unlock the Precision Release skill, as it allows you to unleash an even more powerful counterattack if you release the Force button right before an attack connects while stunning nearby enemies, and the Dancing Blades skill, which lets you attack multiple enemies with your Lightsaber throw. For the Double Blade Stance, the Endless Hurricane skill is one of the best skills to learn quickly, as it lets you continue attacking after a basic chain of attacks has ended, turning Cal into a tornado of death that can destroy enemies easily.
If a parry-focused playstyle is more your thing in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you should also consider learning the Parry Push skill as soon as possible. With this ability, you can send enemies flying if you use Force Push right before their attack connects, giving you one more ability to make the best out of your mastery of parry.
These are only some of the best skills to learn as soon as possible in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but there are plenty of others that can be quite effective. Thankfully, it is possible to get a huge amount of XP on planet Koboh just a few hours into the game, so do not worry about unlocking a skill that you shouldn't have. Experiment, have fun, and may the Force be with you always.
