EA has said its Frostbite engine, which powers many of its current titles and will power even more in the future, may be used to develop new virtual reality titles from the company.
Senior executive Peter Moore appeared on stage during EA's E3 2015 press conference to introduce Star Wars: Battlefront, a game developed by DICE in Stockholm.
Speaking about the Frostbite tech, Moore said it would be used on more triple-A games, mobile games, and "maybe even VR" in the future. The fact that EA took the opportunity to mention VR and Frostbite, even in passing, is interesting.
Earlier today Microsoft announced it is partnering with Valve and HTC to support its ViveVR. This follows the announcement that Oculus Rift will include Xbox One controllers, and Xbox One games will be playable on the Rift through Windows 10 streaming.
