Star Wars Battlefront II Beta Sports Dynamic Resolution On Consoles; Full Technical Analysis Shared-December 2024
Dec 21, 2024 9:44 PM

The Star Wars Battlefront II beta is now nearing its end, and players all over the world had the chance to see how DICE improved on its predecessor's formula. The game obviously features some technical improvements, and Digital Foundry recently highlighted some of them in a fresh technical analysis.

According to the analysis, the game uses dynamic resolution on consoles. The PlayStation 4 version resolution ranges from 972o to 1080p while the Xbox One version resolution goes from 900p to 1000p. The PlayStation 4 Pro version obviously features a better resolution range, going from 1296p to 1400p, also featuring some ambient occlusion improvements not found on the standard PS4 model. The analysis also highlights how performance isn't the best, going often below 60 FPS. As optimization is still undergoing, this should be less of an issue in the final release.

Just like many of you, we've been playing the Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta over the last few days. We've already gone in-depth on PS4 Pro, but here's how PS4, Xbox One and Pro stack up in terms of resolution, performance and visual feature set.

Star Wars Battlefront II launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 17th in all regions. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
