Earlier on, it was common to hear franchise fans worried that Star Wars Battlefront would have turned out to be too similar to Battlefield, since DICE was developing this new entry.

　　However, this couldn't be further from the truth according to the developers themselves. DICE's General Manager Patrick Bach released the following statement, published in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine:

　　I don’t think we have a single system in the game that is the same as in Battlefield. They are as far apart as any shooter would be to any other shooter. I think people will be surprised that it’s even a DICE game in some cases, but I think that the quality of the game and the quality of the audio, the visuals, the emotion it evokes will hopefully feel very DICE.

　　Having tried the game, I definitely have to agree. Star Wars Battlefront is very different from Battlefield in all respects, from the shooting itself (no ammo & recharge, since Star Wars "rifles" are actually blasters) to the way vehicles are accessed in the game (via power-ups), not to mention heroes and villains which don't even exist in Battlefield.
