The Star Wars Battlefront DLC content is being already sold via the Season Pass, priced at $/€ 50 for four additional packs (and two weeks early access to each of them) and a Shoot First emote.
During the most recent earnings call, Electronic Arts' Chief Operating Officer (COO) Peter Moore gave a few more details about the Star Wars Battlefront DLC. This additional content will be released over a 12-18 month period and feature new "universes"; this should be very interesting for Star Wars fans, as it's the first hint of Star Wars Battlefront content set in other eras. The base game is in fact fully based on the original trilogy, but there are many other battles and characters that fans would like to see from the prequel trilogy, the upcoming "sequel" movies and of course, the Clone Wars and Old Republic periods (although the latter is less likely).
What we've announced is four extra packs over the next 12-18 months coming post launch. You'll see new universes, you're gonna see new player actions, obviously new weaponry as well.
In the same earnings call, Peter Moore confirmed that Electronic Arts has upped the forecast on Star Wars Battlefront's sales: after the hugely successful beta (over 9 million players) and "excellent" preorders, they are targeting 13 million units sold.
Now if Han Solo was here, we'd say great but, 'Don't get cocky, kid.' Our ability to be able to deliver against this is solid and the preorders are excellent, so you've heard from both Blake {Jorgensen, CFO] and Andrew. We feel very good about 13 million units.
In related news, DICE shared yesterday a teaser trailer for the first Star Wars Battlefront DLC, Battle of Jakku, which will be free to everyone (pre-order customers will get early access to it).
The Battle of Jakku took place one year after the Battle of Endor, and it will be referenced in the upcoming Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens movie.
