Star Wars Actor Was Fired From "Sh*tty" Video Game-October 2024
Oct 27, 2024 10:30 AM

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens this week, and with it comes the respective Disney Infinity play set. Oscar Isaac, who's starring in the new movie as X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron, provided his voice to Disney's toys-to-life game. But it wasn't the first time he's done voiceover work for a game.

Although he never appeared in the finished product, Isaac claims in an interview with Birth.Movies.Death that he had been "fired" from work on Dante's Inferno, which was developed by Visceral Games and published by EA.

Isaac said he thinks he was dismissed because "they just thought I was bad." However, the Force Awakens star doesn't seem too beat up about it.

"It was such a shitty game, though," said Isaac.

When the interviewer proclaimed that he had "dodged a bullet," the actor said "it was a Force dodge."

Dante's Inferno received a 6.5 from GameSpot in a review that said the game falls short of its impressive beginning and there's little reason to play beyond it.

EA handles development on all Star Wars games now, excluding a select few that can be found on mobile. The company released Star Wars Battlefront this year and has plans for sequels. Meanwhile, a Star Wars game by Visceral is currently in development.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens releases on December 18. It was recently announced that the movie would be accompanied by a trailer for the upcoming Star Trek Beyond. And Star Wars creator George Lucas "really liked" the new Star Wars film and says fans are going to love it.
