Three experienced wargame creators have announced the founding of a new development studio, 2BY3 Games. The trio is made up of Gary Grigsby, the creator of the Steel Panthers series; Keith Brors, a veteran programmer from SSI; and Joel Billings, an experienced producer and the founder of SSI. The three founders have more than 50 years of combined experience in creating computer wargames. 2BY3 Games, which stands for World War II by three guys, will focus on re-creating notable military campaigns.
The studio has announced three games currently in development: a game set in the South Pacific between May 1942 and December 1943, a game covering the entire war in the Pacific between 1941 and 1945, and a game concentrating on the war between the USSR and Germany from 1941 and 1945. All three games are scheduled for release in 2001 and 2002.
