TOKYO - Aruze's booth at the Spring Tokyo Game Show is mostly devoted to gambling games for the NeoGeo Pocket Color and a PS2 RPG called Shadow Hearts. But signs posted on the walls of Aruze's booth tell a slightly different tale.
For starters, the owner of SNK is planning to bring the latest Fatal Fury game, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, to the Dreamcast. The game was shown in video form at the booth, but it is likely that the video was taken from the NeoGeo version of the game. The NeoGeo game, which has been seen for sale in used shops at prices approaching $1000 US, features mostly new characters with familiar moves, including Rock Howard. Terry Bogard also returns, minus his trademark hat. Given the company's track record at putting NeoGeo games on the DC, the DC version should be an arcade-perfect port.
Aruze is also planning on releasing a sequel to its crossover card battle game, SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash. Card Fighters Clash wasn't shown at TGS, but it, like Mark of the Wolves DC, is scheduled to hit Japanese shelves in late Q2 or early Q3 of this year.
