Spotify Is Now On The Epic Games Store
Spotify Is Now On The Epic Games Store-October 2024
Oct 18, 2024 2:24 AM

Popular music and podcasting streaming service Spotify is now available on the Epic Games Store as a free add-on. Listed under "Spotify Music," you'll be able to easily add the app and access your curated collection of music for streaming during a gameplay session. Or better yet, you can listen to podcasts such as GameSpot After Dark on the platform. Much like the original app, Spotify can be used in a free mode to listen to content with advert support, but subscribing to a premium account will unlock better ad-free functionality.

This is just the first of several other non-game applications that will be added to the Epic Games Store in the future, as Epic works on turning its digital distribution system into more than just a hub for launching first and third-party games.

"We’ll continue to work with partners to continue to grow the store’s offerings for our players and create a more robust platform for developers," Epic said.

The Epic free games program is also increasing the frequency at which it gives away free games, as it'll be shifting from a weekly to a daily schedule with its 15 free games in 15 days promotion.

The first free game that is already available is Cities: Skylines, which you'll have until December 18 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET to claim before it's replaced by the next mystery freebie.

Epic's holiday sale also kicks off this week, which in the past has featured big discounts on hundreds of games.
