Splinter Cell ships for the GBA-September 2024
Sep 23, 2024 4:29 AM

Ubi Soft Entertainment has shipped the Game Boy Advance version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell to stores across North America. The first stealth action game to be released for the GBA, Splinter Cell simulates the gameplay of the original game through the use of interactive environments and safe zones. The GBA version of the game also boasts a number of unique features, including additional levels to unlock either by completing the game or by linking up with the GameCube version, as well as three boss fights in which players get to go head-to-head with enemies.

"Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell delivers something unique to each platform," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubi Soft Entertainment. "Exclusive gadgets and levels--even the linked play opportunities available only to players connecting their Nintendo GameCubes and Game Boy Advances--are our way of satisfying our fans on various platforms. So far gamers have been really enthusiastic, especially the hard-core Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell fans who play it on all platforms just to get a taste of the features exclusive to each version."

As we reported previously, linking the GBA version of Splinter Cell to the GameCube game allows players to make use of a GameCube-exclusive sticky bomb weapon, as well as use the GBA as a remote extension for the OPSAT minimap.
