Now Playing: Spider-Man: No Way Home Stars Play WOULD YOU RATHER | Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon

"This weekend's historic results, from all over the world and in the face of many challenges, reaffirm the unmatched cultural impact that exclusive theatrical films can have when they are made and marketed with vision and resolve," Sony Motion Picture Group CEO Tom Rothman said in a statement to THR.

For international markets, No Way Home has made $334.2 million. It's also the first movie during the pandemic era to make more than $100 million over its first weekend in the US.

According to a report, Sony is spending more than $200 million to promote No Way Home, so it makes sense that strong box office numbers would follow. But these first-weekend numbers are ahead of projections.

Sony producer Amy Pascal recently said a new Spider-Man trilogy of films with Tom Holland could be in the works, but importantly, no deal has been made. Holland is planning to take a break from acting and focus on his family and other endeavors.
