With SoulCalibur V hitting the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this month, Namco Bandai has announced that an iOS version of the original SoulCalibur will be available for purchase on January 19 on iTunes (via Andriasang).
The soul still burns, this time on the iPad 2. The port will have all 19 fighters, along with features such as Arcade Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Extra Survival, Practice, and Museum modes. Survival mode, Extra Survival mode, and Time Attack mode will be compatible with the iOS's Game Center leaderboards. Like most console ports, the game features a virtual control pad for players to pull off attacks and evasive maneuvers. Namco Bandai did not disclose details about multiplayer features or the game's price.
The original SoulCalibur received critical acclaim as a Dreamcast launch title in 1999. A high-definition version of the game was also released on Xbox Live in 2008.
