LONDON - Soul Fighter, a side-scrolling fighting game for the Dreamcast, was on display at ECTS. And although we've been playing the game quite a bit in the offices thanks to frequent visits from the developers and publishers, this latest version offered some significant improvements. For example, one of the largest complaints that we had with previous playables of the game was in the control department. Before, you could only run by double tapping the analog direction stick - something that really should not be necessary with analog - but not anymore. Now it's a breeze to run.
Another big plus in the ECTS version of the game was the inclusion of an optimal camera view button. Now, if you ever happen to run into an area where it's hard to see, all you have to do is tap the button and it's now longer a problem. The latest version of Soul Fighter also has a revamped combo system, -which makes the game much better. Soul Fighter for the Dreamcast releases in mid-October in the US. We should be receiving nearly final playables of the game soon, so look for continuing coverage on the title.
