Zomax Incorporated recently reported that Sony Computer Entertainment America has approved its Fremont, California-based facility as an authorized site for the assembly of PlayStation 2 CDs and DVDs.
SCEA and other PS2 publishers can now use Zomax assembly and supply chain services for the creation and distribution of gaming software during seasonal retail peaks.
Annual estimates suggest that about 50 percent of any given year's interactive software is released during the fourth quarter. It is estimated that US retailers have between 125 and 150 PS2 games scheduled for release between this September and December.
