Sony Computer Entertainment hopes to release an updated model of its PSOne unit in Japan by the end of this year. The new version will have the same hardware configuration as the current PSOne units, but it will ship with the LCD screen in the package. The ultimate decision to release the combo product to market will depend on the market price of the LCD screen at the time of the planned debut. Currently, the PSOne LCD screens retail separately for a suggested retail price of $149.99.
