PlayStation 3 gamers won't need to leave their homes to pick up some of October's biggest games. Sony announced today a new campaign called "Day 1 Digital" that lets gamers pick up eight big-name titles through the PlayStation Network day-and-date with their retail arrival. Why leave the house?
These titles include Resident Evil 6, Assassin's Creed III, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Dishonored, NBA 2K13, Doom 3: BFG Edition, and 007 Legends.
Sony also announced that gamers who hold a PlayStation Plus subscription and elect to preorder titles will be able to download select games at a reduced rate. PS Plus members who preorder Doom 3: BFG Edition can get the game for $36 instead of $40, while Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit and NBA 2K13 will be available for $54 instead of $60 for those who plunk down a reservation fee.
Additionally, 007 Legends will be available to PS Plus subscribers during launch week at a 10 percent markdown. The game will retail for $60, meaning gamers can save $6 by purchasing the new James Bond title October 16-23.
