Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) and Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corporation (NTT), have announced that they will offer a new network service. With the combination of the Sony PlayStation 2 and NTT's fiber optic network, the service will distribute content such as movies, anime, and games through the Internet. Test services will begin this December in limited locations, and nationwide distribution will begin sometime in 2001. Today's announcement is the first step in SCE's plan of e-distribution and other network-related projects.
