TOKYO - Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. will delay the launch of Pocket Station. Originally set to release December 23, the peripheral is now slated to be released on January 23.
According to SCEI, the reason for the delay is that it can't produce enough Pocket Stations by the December launch day.
Pocket Station is essentially a memory card with an LCD screen and sound features. This peripheral allows users not only to save data, but play minigames and exchange data with other Pocket Station users when in use with compatible games.
Currently R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 is available as a Pocket Station-compatible game.
