The wait is over, ladies and gentlemen. The final major segment of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 PC fan project is finally here, and with it, we see the addition of the Silver campaign alongside a myriad of improvements that will retroactively tweak the experience for the Sonic and Shadow campaigns. Thus, PC players will be able to experience the better parts of Sonic 06 without the problems brought about by the original version of the game.
The remake of Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 on PC is a full-fledged remake made in Unity. The project is currently handled by Argentinian developer ChaosX. This project (dubbed Project '06 or P-06 for short) has been in development for over three years and has seen multiple releases that slowly added stages from the Sonic and Shadow campaigns. Now, it's Silver's time to shine as the latest update to the game will see the addition of the Silver campaign.
You can watch the trailer that showcases the Silver moveset and gameplay tweaks in this new iteration of Sonic the Hedgehog below:
Right off the bat, we can see the many improvements that have been made to Sonic '06 with this project. Silver now moves faster than before and can be seen using his telekinetic abilities in a much more aggressive manner for both combat and traversal. Additionally, we see that his tag partners (Amy and Blaze) have also seen some improvements in their movesets, allowing for better movement and equally better pacing in P-06.
The latest Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 PC port release also sees the addition of dynamic cutscenes at certain stage sections. In one of the cutscenes, we see Shadow taking on several robots in White Acropolis, while in another, we see the beginning of Sonic's Mach Speed Section in Wave Ocean. All of this, and more, will await players once they download the game, which is currently available for free.
P-06 is available exclusively on PC. The game also includes several graphical tweaks alongside features like E3 graphics and sounds alongside a myriad of Easter Eggs.
