Sega of America today announced four new games coming to mobile and tablet devices beginning next month, including Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and a remastered version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2.
"As the audience for mobile gaming continues to grow, we're proud to expand our portfolio of digital titles with a wide array of genres," Sega vice president of Digital Business Chris Olson said in a statement.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is a sequel to 2011's mobile game Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing, itself based on 2010 console game Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.
The new mobile game--due out this winter for iOS and Android--features a reimagined World Tour, four-player local and online races, and "comprehensive" social integration.
A remastered version of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will be released for iOS and Android in November, Sega also announced today. Remastered audio and a frame rate of 60fps are promised for this new version of the game that originally introduced Sonic's sidekick Tails.
This version of the game will be available as a free update for those who already own the game on iOS. It is coming to Android for the first time.
Also launching in the coming months from Sega is role-playing game Demon Tribe (iOS; winter 2013) and adventure game Rhythm Thief & the Paris Caper (iOS; early 2014).
Sega did not announce prices or specific launch dates for any of its upcoming mobile games.
