As Yun 'TaeJa' Young Soo has struggled as of late, Song 'HerO' Heyon Deok once again springs to life and claims a 1st place finish at IEM Cologne after defeating Choi 'Polt' Seok Hun in the grand finals.
The event was anything but easy for the Korean representing Team Liquid. After neatly escaping elimination in the initial group stage, he went on to defeat Lee 'INnoVation' Shin Hyung in a 3-0 sweep, before reaching a nail-bitingly close five map series against Lee 'Jaedong' Jae Dong in the semi-finals where he eventually emerged as the victor.
The series against Polt was an incredible display, as the terran managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the fifth game of the series. HerO wasn't phazed however, and proceeded to win the following map in the series, making him the IEM Cologne champion.
