Japanese television really is wonderfully insane. Just channel flipping will leave you boggling at the random stuff that you find. What impresses me most is perhaps the unabashed use of text popups; sometimes the screen will be almost full of text during a commercial, which isn't something you see very often in American television.
Anyway, I've been recording random snippets from the television in our room. Here's one from yesterday morning. I suspect it's a kid's show. I certainly hope it's not for adults.
This one's my favorite though. Half a minute of a bizarre Japanese trivia show, where you're crushed by a spike trap if you don't answer the question in enough time (top that, Trebek!), then a couple minutes of commercials.
