North American retail giant Best Buy alerted shoppers this week that it had to cancel some preorders for the Destiny Limited Edition as a result of too much demand.
"The popularity of Destiny Limited Edition exceeded the quantities made available to Best Buy," the retailer said, according to an email posted on the Destiny subreddit (via IGN). "As a result, we are unable to fulfill all of the preorders received."
To make it up to shoppers, Best Buy is offering $50 in store credit toward the purchase of the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition or the Standard Edition. The Destiny Limited Edition sells for $100 and includes the game, a special steelbook, the Destiny expansion pass (featuring two add-ons), and various digital content.
Best Buy's cancellation of orders for the Destiny Limited Edition comes after another major retailer, Wal-Mart, did the same for the Ghost Edition. This $150 bundle is currently tough to find, and as a result, the bundles are selling for major markups on eBay.
