Simon & Schuster Interactive has released new information about Soldiers of Anarchy, its upcoming 3D strategy game scheduled for release in September. The game is set in a postapocalyptic world in which a group of military veterans has retreated underground for safety. Players will assume control of a squad of soldiers and undertake a series of missions to free humanity from its oppressors.

　　The game will incorporate squad-based tactical combat with real-time strategy to create a customizable single- and multiplayer game. Players will have to lead their squad of soldiers to capture enemy units such as tanks, helicopters, and jets, and then use those units against the enemy in battle.

　　In addition to the nonlinear campaign's 23 missions, the game will include a complete level and scenario editor that will let players create their own game content. The game will also feature fully deformable 3D environments, customizable vehicles, weather effects, and day-night cycles.

　　Simon & Schuster will be demonstrating Soldiers of Anarchy next week at the upcoming 2002 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. We'll post more information about the game as it becomes available.
