Hong Kong officials have reported that they have seized over 45,000 pirated pieces of software (with a street value of US$142,000). The officials seized 24,000 video game CD-ROMs, 20,000 videodiscs, 1,200 compact discs, and 192 video game cartridges. All of those arrested were released on bail.
Hong Kong has stepped up its antipiracy effort since US officials pinpointed Hong Kong as a hot bed for the manufacturing and distribution of illegal software.
