SN Systems has announced that it will add broadband support via USB devices to its PlayStation 2 TCP/IP stack. Using the tool, PS2 developers can now add both broadband and narrowband functions such as online gaming, web browsing, and e-mail clients to their upcoming PlayStation 2 software.
"Our TCP/IP stack has been well received and providing broadband support is exactly what developers have been asking for," said Martin Day, chief technologist for SN Systems.
"Developers will be able to add narrowband, broadband, LAN, or FireWire connectivity to their PlayStation 2 applications using a single intuitive API and stack," added Andy Beveridge, co-founder of SN Systems.
SN Systems is the developer of the official PlayStation development tool chain, SDevTC, which is shipped by SCE to all PlayStation licensees worldwide.
