Electronic Arts announced on Tuesday that the first- ever snowmobile-racing title for the PlayStation, Sled Storm, has shipped to stores.
"We feel Sled Storm is one of the most original and unique games available for the PlayStation," says producer Jules Burt. "We wanted to capture all the excitement and danger of sledding in an extremely compelling console game. We polished the game so that it delivers an arcade-like, yet realistic, racing experience and gives the user an exhilarating sense of what it feels like to control a real snowmobile."
Sled Storm allows two- and four-player multiplayer (via the multitap) modes for some real competitive racing action. Also, the game sports a soundtrack featuring such popular artists as Rob Zombie and Econoline Crush.
The September issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (currently on store shelves) gave Sled Storm ratings of 9.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 9.0. The game also received the magazine's "Game of the Month" award.
