British karaoke kings and queens will be delighted with the news that the next-gen iteration of SingStar has been officially dated for release on December 7. The long overdue game will finally be hitting British stores well in time for Christmas. The PlayStation 3 version of the game adds a number of new features, including the SingStore, an online iTunes-style shop where users can purchase and download tunes from a database.
On the game's MySpace page, Sony also announced SingStar Studios would be set up at the O2 arena in London. SingStar Studios will be open on the weekends of November 17 and 18, 24, and 25, and December 8 and 9, and 15 and 16 from noon to 10 p.m. Thirty-minute slots can be booked on the day on a first come first served basis, and are free. A team of stylists will also be on hand to glam up gamers for their performances.
