Ubisoft today announced that Silent Hunter III for the PC has floated into stores. The game was developed by Ubisoft Romania and is the first of the three Silent Hunter titles to be developed internally by a Ubisoft studio.

　　In Silent Hunter III, gamers man the periscopes of one of WWII's deadliest vessels: the German U-boat. For the much of the war, these stealthy assassins ruled the oceans and battled antisubmarine Allied forces in deadly games of cat and mouse.

　　Silent Hunter III features a dynamic campaign mode that promises no two scenarios will ever be alike. Gamers can choose what year to enter the war, and they'll have various technologies and flotilla based on their choices. The online portion of the game allows for both cooperative and competitive play for up to eight players.

　　New this year is the event camera, which gives players a unique perspective on important events, such as a launched torpedo or a sinking ship. The game also features a new 3D game engine and sharper graphics.
