Interactive Magic announced Tuesday that its newest online multiplayer game ShockForce is now in open beta and is available free of charge.
ShockForce is tank combat in a futuristic setting, allowing up to 64 players to play in a single arena, utilizing different forms of weapons, such as guns, missiles, and explosive mines as well as space-dropped equipment and more. Teams or squadrons of players can be formed as well.
After this beta period ends, ShockForce will more than likely assume the same charges as Interactive Magic's other online offerings, including Warbirds and Dawn of Aces, which would be US$9.95 a month and $2 per hour after five hours of play.
Interested players can download the software needed and play on the Interactive Magic Online web site, linked at right.
