Saying 2020 has been a weird year is quite the understatement. Between the COVID-19 pandemic and the changes in our daily lives because of it, everything is a bit surreal. Hasbro is leaning into the "2020 doesn't make sense" brand by producing a severed Deadpool head toy. We got our hands on it, and it's kinda fantastic.

　　Marvel Legends Deadpool’s Premium Interactive Head is a bizarre concept. It's a talking, moving Deadpool head that reacts to sound and movement. While it isn't arriving to stores until this fall, Hasbro recently released an advertisement announcing the toy. And below, you can check out GameSpot's sister site CNET's unboxing of the severed head.

　　But what fun is a toy that's just a head? Apparently, more than you think it is. Hasbro sent GameSpot this interactive head to check out, and early thoughts of this toy were nothing more than, "Why does this exist?" However, after interacting with the toy, it was clear this was something special.

　　The box is decorated with jokes and references to the X-Men universe, showcasing what the head can do. And inside the box is the head, a small instruction leaflet, and nothing else. Check out some photos of it below.

　　This is a life-sized head that moves, bounces around, and says ridiculous things. Throughout playing with the toy--as well as hearing my 3-year-old son yell "why are you talking to me" at it--there was only one instance of the Deadpool head repeating itself. The toy has over 600+ lines ranging from insults to pranks to making fun of you if there's a Bluetooth failure.

　　The Bluetooth capability allows the head to pair with your phone when you use the Deadpool's Head app. When paired, there are plenty of options. For one, you can pull pranks with it. As you can see in the images above, Deadpool ended up in my fridge and in my bed. When you open the fridge door or move in the bed, Deadpool says a few funny things. The app design embodies--no pun intended--the spirit of Deadpool with hand-drawn design.

　　Party mode is exactly what it sounds like. Deadpool engages with people in your household that pass him by, making fun of them. Night mode is delightfully creepy at times, featuring quite a bit of sweet nothings being whispered in your ear. You can also use the app to toss throwing stars at him or feed him chimichangas. It's all silly and fun and completely in spirit with the character. There's also a "do not press" button. Don't press it.

　　One of the most fun things about the toy is that it knows when you pick it up. At one point, it started reciting lines from Hamlet to me. The voice for Deadpool is perfect, and while it's not the uber-recognizable Ryan Reynolds doing it, the person who does the voice work nails the character.

　　The interactive Deadpool head toy will be available on November 2, 2020 and will cost $100 USD. Yes, it's a bit expensive, but for the hardcore Deadpool fan, this may be worth checking out. Currently, it is available for pre-order on HasbroPulse with a limit to two per customer. Speaking of Hasbro, HasLabs--the company's crowdfunding site--is producing its largest Marvel Legends figure yet, a 26-inch tall Sentinel figure, which comes with a few accessories.
