Overwatch, the popular game by Blizzard released last year, has been receiving a constant flow of additional content, and it seems like things will stay like this in the near future, with new maps likely releasing this year.
In a post on the Overwatch official forums, Game Director Jeff Kaplan confirmed that several maps are in development. Three of these maps, which are past the initial playtesting phase, are standard maps that will likely release this year.
We currently have 3 maps in development, all past the initial playtesting phase that are "standard" maps (QP/Comp). While something could always change, all 3 of those are looking likely for a release this year.
We also have 3 non-standard maps in development (these won't go in QP/Comp).
We also have a few other experiments going on.
Hopefully this will satisfy some of what you're looking for. We want to play on these maps as badly as you guys do. We'll work as fast as we can!
Overwatch has been released last year on PC and consoles and managed to become incredibly popular in a very short amount of time, with thousands of players enjoying the game daily in its many multiplayer modes.
Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities.
In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world: OVERWATCH.
Overwatch ended the crisis, and helped maintain peace in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But, after many years, Overwatch’s influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded.
Overwatch is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
