In an interview posted in today's Asahi Journal, Sega CEO Hideki Sato revealed that the company would come to a conclusion about its merger decision involving Sammy and Namco by the beginning of next month. "In order to strengthen Sega's position in the market. We will have to carefully examine which company would be better to merge with," said Sato, pointing out that Sega is thinking of merging with only one of the two companies.
Sega originally announced in February that it would be merging with Sammy in October, but a request for a merger came from Namco on the 14th of this month. Sega plans to make a final decision after analyzing Sammy's assets, which will become available in early May.
