See Game of Thrones' Season 7 Directors Here-September 2024
Sep 22, 2024 9:23 AM

The directors for Game of Thrones Season 7 have been announced, and it looks like there's a lot of talent helming the next season. Entertainment Weekly revealed the seventh season's four overseers, and among them are directors for projects such as Thor: The Dark World, Boardwalk Empire, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Season 7's directors include Alan Taylor, who's worked on The Sopranos and Game of Thrones; Jeremy Podeswa, who helmed an Emmy-award winning episode of Boardwalk Empire; Mark Mylod, another Game of Thrones veteran; and Matt Shakman, who's known for his work on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have written an episode of It's Always Sunny--star Rob McElhenny is also emceeing Game of Thrones' panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

EW notes that Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik, who directed Season 6's finale, is absent from the seventh season.

Benioff recently discussed ending the show and next season's plans. He said, "From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that's what we'll end up with." You can read more here.

The Season 6 finale, "The Winds of Winter," aired Sunday and set a ratings record. You can watch the latest episode of GameSpot of Thrones, where our editors analyze the events, discuss potential consequences, and make a few predictions.
