Rare's Sea of Thieves 'shared world pirate adventure' game debuted at the first spot of the latest UK weekly chart, according to GFK Chart-Track.
It's a rather remarkable feat once you consider that Sea of Thieves is also available as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription (and, of course, this chart doesn't factor in PC and Xbox One digital sales in the UK either).
The co-op action/adventure game A Way Out, developed by Hazelight and published under the EA Originals label, grabbed the second place ahead of Level-5's JRPG Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom; however, Ni no Kuni II actually scored the second place for revenue thanks to the successful special editions prepared by publisher Bandai Namco.
Ubisoft's re-release Assassin's Creed Rogue Remastered ranked fourth ahead of EA's FIFA 2018, an enduring presence in UK charts. Burnout Paradise Remastered got the sixth place, while the other two new game releases of the week, KOEI Tecmo's Attack on Titan 2 and Nintendo's Detective Pikachu for 3DS, ranked 17th and 23rd respectively.
