In the past few days, rumors regarding a possible August release of the next Microsoft console, currently known as Project Scorpio, started circulating online. Unfortunately, it seems like it's unlikely that the console will launch this soon.
According to Windows Central's Jez Corden, all Scorpio launch games will require certification against October 2017 XDK, making it impossible for the console to be released any earlier.
The rumors of Scorpio hitting in August or even earlier are false. Launch games require cert against October 2017 XDK.

Additionally, Jez Corden speculates that Scorpio may be released between October and November, which would make sense considering the console's codename.
Gonna say mid-Oct to mid-Nov launch window.

With Scorpio being the most powerful console ever made, many are wondering if the original Xbox One model will hold the new hardware back. This apparently won't be the case, as reiterated by Xbox's Mike Ybarra last week. Developers will be able to use the console's additional power however they see fit.
Even though the console's final design has yet to be revealed, we have managed to get a good look at the dev kit earlier this month. The dev kit comes with a programmable front panel that can do more than just keep track of performance.
Project Scorpio launches this year in all regions. More on the upcoming console will be coming at E3 in a few weeks so stay tuned for all the latest news on the powerful new console from Microsoft.
