Worried that there just won't be enough to keep you busy come the new year? Focus Home Interactive and Spiders today announced sci-fi RPG The Technomancer will be available in the coming months.

　　The game will let players explore Mars, a once barren planet now filled with unusual, ugly, hostile life. We're not just talking YouTubers, either.

　　A cataclysm has killed most of the settlers on the red planet, and naturally caused other, once domesticated animals to evolve. Say what you want, Matt Damon didn't know how lucky he was...

　　The Technomancer will offer players a variety of combat styles in an action-focused RPG. A dynamic conversation system will allow you to talk your way out of certain situations, but I'm guessing the only dynamic conversation options you'll have when facing the beauty above will be to quote lines from Aliens.

　　You'll be able to craft equipment, armour and weapons, as well as develop relationships with the allies you find along your adventure.

　　You mission to Mars will begin at some point in early 2016. The game will be available to pick up on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. You can visit the official website for more information, and do check up on the latest screenshots showing creatures in The Technomancer.

　　Although Mars’ red surface is naturally barren and completely devoid of life, hundreds of years of human civilization has led to the creation and evolution of many hybrid species built from the genetic makeup of animals found on Earth. What was first an exercise to create an ecosystem to support the original settlers eventually grew out of control, following the cataclysm that wiped most settlers and isolated Mars from Earth. Mutations and accelerated evolution forged what little life there was into threatening beasts scattered all over the red planet.

　　While originally bred as domestic animals, the harsh living conditions on Mars led these creatures to develop effective defense mechanisms - poison, camouflage, brute force... The longer Mars is cut off from Earth, the more dangerous Mars’ new wildlife grows. They will aggressively defend their territory should you trespass it.
