Ranging from ultra-thin bezels to ultra-wide panels, manufacturers have been working to set themselves apart from the rest of the market. Samsung has taken the approach to a whole new level as it announced two new gaming monitors today which feature High Dynamic Range and QLED quantum dot technology. In addition to this, it supports almost 125 percent of the sRGB color spectrum as well as 95 percent of Digital Cinema Initiative motion picture standard. Both deliver rich, sharp and wide color range to enhance the viewing experience. Lets dive in to see some more details on the Samsung CHG90 gaming monitor.
The HDR enabled QLED gaming monitor also delivers an amazing 1,800 curve with an ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle. Moreover, the monitor also supports fast refresh rates of 144Hz and the motion picture response time is 1ms.
To avoid screen tearing, the CHG90 also incorporates AMD FreeSync 2 technology. It comes with the advanced four channel scanning technology to minimize motion blurs. The end result is simply stunning with a consistent picture across the complete screen and performs exceptionally during gameplay. Check out more details in the chart provided below.
While CHG90 is available in a 49-inch screen size, the CHG70 will be available in 31.5- and 27-inch display size. Nonetheless, they are also packed with a 144Hz refresh rate so Samsung did not compromise there. With a resolution of 2560x1440, the monitors can get as bright as 600nits. Furthermore, the monitors also feature AMD's new Radeon FreeSync 2 technology, so there will be a lot less stuttering in between games. HDR content can be displayed with all thanks to the wide color gamut, which is definitely a plus.
However, Samsung's behemoth of a gaming monitor does not come cheap. The 49-inch CHG90 is priced at $1,499, while the 32-inch CHG70 costs $699 and $599 for the 27-inch variant. If you're interested, all three monitors are available for preorder today and is expected to ship later this summer.
This is it for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the new high-end curved gaming monitors from Samsung? Would you spend that much on a gaming monitor? Share your views in the comments.
