Atari today released some new footage of its upcoming PC game RollerCoaster Tycoon World, this latest video showcasing its user-generated content functionality. This video is actually the first public demonstration of the feature and serves as a high-level overview for how it will work. Check it out:
As Atari explains, players can create whatever they want using any 3D program and import it into the game using its Unity plug-in. It looks pretty simple, and Atari notes you never have to leave the game to do this.
"User-generated content is fully integrated into the game. It wasn't enough for us to do what other simulation games have done," executive producer Matthew Labunka says. "And most importantly, it has to be something that's easy for any players to use--from the casual to the most hardcore."
RollerCoaster Tycoon World's user-generated content also supports Steam Workshop, which should, in theory at least, make sharing your creations easier.
The game was originally scheduled to launch in 2015, but was pushed to early 2016--its current release window--partially due to feedback Atari and developer Nvizzio received from fans about its latest beta.
RollerCoaster Tycoon World isn't the only new rollercoaster game coming this year. Frontier Developments is making its own game, Planet Coaster, which is scheduled to arrive on PC at the end of the year.
