ROG Ally VS Steam Deck Definitive Comparison Highlights Performance, Battery, Display Differences and More
ROG Ally VS Steam Deck Definitive Comparison Highlights Performance, Battery, Display Differences and More-September 2024
Sep 21, 2024 7:40 PM

A new ROG Ally versus Steam Deck comparison video was shared online, highlighting the differences between the two portable gaming systems.

The new comparison, which was put together by ElAnalistaDeBits, goes rather in-depth, highlighting the performance, battery, display, and loading times differences between the two systems while running a variety of games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, Diablo IV, Resident Evil 4 and Grand Theft Auto V. Unsurprisingly, given its specs, the ROG Ally seems superior to the Steam Deck, providing a true portable PC gaming experience, but given the higher price tag, the portable console by Valve may still be the way to go for players with a limited budget.

As mentioned above, it is not surprising to see the ROG Ally perform much better than the Steam Deck, given its specs. The console is powered by a Ryzen Z1 Extreme – 8 Core, 16 Thread (3.30 Ghz) CPU, an RDNA 3 12 core (2.8 TFLOPS) GPU, and 16GB LPDDR5 Dual Channel RAM. Making playing games on the go on the ROG Ally is also made better by its 7” Full HD 16:9, 120Hz Refresh Rate display, a far cry from the Steam Deck display, whose resolution is limited to 1280x800 and 60Hz refresh rate. More information on the ASUS gaming system can be found on its official website. To learn more about the Steam Deck, you can check out our own review.
