Rocket League: Collector's Edition, the physical version of Psyonix's hit soccer-with-cars game, is coming to retail starting in June, publisher 505 Games (Payday 2, Brothers) has announced. It will launch on June 24 in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a release to follow in North America on July 5.
Rocket League's upcoming "Hoops" basketball modeAs announced previously, Rocket League's physical edition comes with the base game and previously released expansion packs including Supersonic Fury, Revenge of the Battle-Cars, and Chaos Run.
505 also teased that the Collector's Edition features four "brand new vehicles" not yet released for the existing digital versions of Rocket League. No further details about these cars were divulged.
Rocket League was released in July 2015 on PS4 and PC and was one of the biggest surprise hits of the year. It has now sold 4 million copies and has attracted around 12 million players.
In all, it's already made more than $70 million against a $2 million initial budget. Development on the game is ongoing, as Psyonix has pledged to support Rocket League with even more DLC, including a basketball-themed mode called Hoops later this month.
Psyonix also has aspirations to expand beyond Rocket League. CEO Dave Hagewood said recently that the independent studio has a "massive backlog" of "exciting" games it hopes to reveal someday.
