Rocket League Coming to Retail Stores This Year
Rocket League Coming to Retail Stores This Year-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 3:28 AM

Rocket League is currently only available digitally, but people wanting to own a physical copy of the car soccer game will be able to buy one at retail later this year.

The news was announced by Psyonix Studios vice president Jeremy Dunham on today's episode of Kinda Funny Games' Colin and Greg Live. He mentioned that the deal was signed this week, and we'll hear more news soon.

"We're going to be announcing very soon that Rocket League's coming to retail," announced Dunham. "We're going to be talking about who our partner is, when [you] can expect to see it, and what comes in that package."

The official Rocket League Facebook page confirmed the news and said Psyonix will "make sure the retail version is special." The developer also mentioned that the Mac version "is getting closer," but it did not give a firm release date.

Additionally, Dunham said on Colin and Greg Live that they're hoping to release more new Rocket League content this year.

"Awards season is almost over. We're going to be at SXSW for that and then a couple other ones," Dunham said. "Once that's done we're going to really start focusing on the game."

Rocket League is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Dunham recently talked with Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb about Psyonix's esports strategy for Rocket League.
