Is this the start of a price war?
We've been looking around the Web for anything at all about the EU pricing of Rock Band, given yesterday's Hispanic rumours, and have some good news (finally) to report...
Amazon and play.com have both slashed £40 (that's over 20%) of the total price for Rock Band for preorders (which both sites are now accepting. They are both running the instrument set at £99.99 and the game at £39.99, compared to the RRPs of £129.99 and £49.99...

EA has confirmed to us today that it is not changing the prices they recommend to retailers in the foreseeable future... but these fairly drastic cuts pre-launch have to be a good sign for anyone looking to buy the game.
Other retailers look to be following suit to some extent... and it's likely to get very interesting if anyone drops below the £139.98 price point. If you see any lower prices around the Web or on the high street, let us know!
