DigitalFoundry has released a new tech analysis/frame-rate test for Rise of the Tomb Raider from the direct feed gameplay footage they recorded during their hands-on time with the game. They do emphasize however, that the game is still a work-in-progress, as well as mention that the level they were allowed to capture was not as impressive as the E3 and Gamescom content. Snow Deformation, improved TressFX and volumetric lighting make Rise of the Tomb Raider one impressive looking game

　　Lara herself is a particular point of renewed focus this time around, with increased detail evident across the model. Skin shaders are more natural than before, with snowflakes accumulating gradually on her clothing. The real standout point is her expressional range, with her eyes gazing realistically into the distance with a nice parallax effect helping to provide real depth. As the wind blows across the valley, we also see updated version of TressFX that deftly handles her hair as it whips around behind her. Even her mountaineering tools bounce around realistically as she runs - an effect first seen in Tomb Raider Definitive Edition.

　　Digital Foundry concludes that the addition of snow deformation as well as improved TressFX and volumetric lighting make for one impressive looking game. You can watch some new Rise of the Tomb Raider gameplay here. Rise of the Tomb Raider is scheduled to arrive on November 10, 2015 on Xbox platforms, followed by an early 2016 release for the PC and holiday release for the PlayStation 4.
