Riot announced a change in the League of Legends Challenger series tournament today, stating there will be a round robin format instead of a single elimination bracket. Esports Web Content Manager Rich 'Arjee' Greenhill laid it all out in his post on lolesports.com:
"Taking place in the first week of December, 15 games will be played over the course of three days to determine your final three Challengers. These teams will be flown to our studios and battle in front of a live audience against LCS pros."
Six teams from North America and six teams from Europe will face each other in their respective region to fight for the chance at an LCS spot. Two teams from each region have yet to be named. WellPlayed will be putting on the North American tournament, while ESL will be hosting the European tournament.
